Taking the step buying a complete splitboard package means a lot of decisions to be made. To minimize waste of time we have put together a complete splitboard package without cutting corners. Starting with one of our proven freeride shapes and adding a top of the line splitboard binding from Plum and pre cut Stranda splitboard climbing skins made for us by Kohla. Big mountain freeride meets backcountry freestyle
The Descender is a splitboard for anyone who wants a directional freeride board with enough tail to allow for switch landings and with enough power to charge big lines. This splitboard has no speed limit and is aiming for best in class performance. Power Bumps™ at the inserts for ultimate grip and security in critical situations boost your level of confidence. The weight is kept low to allow for backcountry freestyle riding. The Descender has a light and snappy core using feather weight paulownia mixed with full length poplar and ash laminates. Thanks to the double ash stringers and rubber dampening there is zero chatter when straight lining icy faces. Rewarded with an “Editors Selection 2021” by Splitboard Journal.

BOTTOM SHAPE
We build our snowboards with camber and Tip-Tail-Rocker. We distinguish between standard camber and low camber: with low camber, the centre of the board is slightly elevated and the contact points are further towards the centre. The Descender has an unique parabolic 5 mm camber – lifted under rear foot for extra pop and ollie power – with low tip- and tail-rocker.
CORE
At Stranda Snowboards we use ash wood and mix it with lighter types of timber as poplar and paulownia. Ash is perfect for building high-performance snowboards as it dampens vibrations and holds its camber, extending the life of your board. Adding poplar and paulownia keeps the weight down. Choosing a premium material also allowed us to reduce the use of petroleum-based composites.
PLUM ETERLOU BINDINGS
With a Plum splitboard binding and their unique system the two halves of your splitboard are tightly connected, giving a solid feel to your ride. We think this is really important for a good splitboard binding. Plum bindings are built with high performance materials, Aluminum 7075, the base of the ETERLOU binding is solid and light. The ankle strap ensures a good hold while the capstrap guarantees comfort still allowing good reacitivty to your splitboard. Size M fits 37-42. Large is good for size 41/42 and up to 47 an easy and wide adjustment on the heel-cup ensures perfect adjustment for your boots. Binding guaranteed 3 years. SOLD COMPLETE WITH ALL PARTS NEEDED!
STRANDA CLIMBING SKINS
Pre cut skins with all hardware needed, they just goes straight on to your Stranda Backcountry. No cutting or trimming needed. The updated Peak (Mixmohair) line was developed for everyday use and has its focus on the balanced combination of excellent grip conditions and gliding. The solvent-free Hot-Melt glue works well down to really low temperatures. Made in Austria by Kohla.
